There are several reasons why a person hits the ball a certain way. However, it is extremely difficult to suggest any solutions until that person repeats the error consistently.
In order to work on swing corrections, you must first become consistent at something. Even if the ball rolls along the ground or you miss it every time, it is easier to correct than if you are doing something different every time and getting different results.
You should remember this when you are out playing. Don't get bewildered when you hit a bad shot, because there is usually more than one thing causing that problem. Furthermore, if you attempt to analyze one errant shot, you are surely going to compound the problem. The best thing to do is brush it off, place it in the "X-FILE", and keep doing what you were doing. If it happens again and at least a third time in succession, then you might want to try and fix it. This should be easier to do since you just experienced the consistency of it three straight times, and you will be more likely to identify what is causing the error correctly.
This may be a good time to remind you that a calm, cool and collected golfer has the ability to control the direction that their golf game is headed, hence the importance of attitude in maintaining good receptive skills during anxious times. This game can be as simple or as complicated as the individual makes it, so stay relaxed and repeat your individual formula for success the best way that you can. Unlike Russian roulette, you can still play tomorrow if you make a mistake today.
JOKE OF THE WEEK
"Let me inform you, young man," said the slow elderly golfer, "I was playing this game before you were born."
"That's all very well, but I'd appreciate it if you'd try to finish it before I die."
Good luck in golf and life and remember...
It's how you play the game within the game that gives you the chance to win or lose.
